Jiroušková Jana

Jana Jiroušková, since 2004, curates the African art collection at the National Museum - Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures, in Prague. From 2003 to 2006, she taught Material Culture of Africa and History of Islam in Subsaharan Africa, at the University of West Bohemia, in Plzen. From 1997 to 2005, she was appointed Researcher at the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences, Prague, and in 1996-1997 worked as archivist for the Ethnographical Institute of the Academy of Sciences. She holds a degree in history and African Studies from the Charles University in Prague, and a PhD in history from the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Sciences, Prague.
